Throw a dart at a map of St. Louis restaurants and, for some, it will always land on Michael’s Bar & Grill. Almost 90 percent of customers are repeat, and many have been coming for years. This loyalty is attributed to the food and service, but there’s a distinct warmth to the place that seems to explain why people flock to this oasis on a nondescript stretch of Manchester Avenue. Working with their creative chef Pepe, we created a pizza true to Michael’s gyro served in the restaurant: Gyro Meat, Tzatziki Sauce, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Mozzarella and Feta Cheese.
